I know that the West’s struggle against communism in the twentieth century was merely a blip on the historical radar, whereas the struggle of Islam against all other cultures has been a constant of human history for almost 1400 years. In fact, just sniffing it lowers blood pressure a couple points. If it be really true that science is opposed to religion, all I can say is, so much the worse for religion. But what if science made it possible to be truly immortal? Brazil has the largest number of Catholics in the world. The number of Umbandists and Candomblers could be significantly higher than the official census figure since many of them continue to this day to disguise their religion under “Catholic” syncretism. Jewish presence in Cyprus dates back to the 3rd century BC, after settling on the island, they established trade relations with other religious groups. Or why they follow the ways in which legislators in Muslim countries attempt to unite local traditions, modern ideas, worldly laws and religious legislation into a single legal system.
